What would the mayor of Emporia do on a perfect day? Looks like it involves lots of coffee and drinks!

8:00 am – Start with Coffee at Granada Coffee Company – The French Roast is unbeatable!

8:10 am – Take a Drive around Emporia and tune into the Saturday Morning Sports Talk on KVOE – Enjoy the beauty of town while catching up on the news in sports with a local take.

9:00 am – Stop into Bluestem Farm & Ranch for a walkabout and a cup of coffee, chances are you’ll find someone to catch up with and its always good to check out the Wall of Jeans.

10:00 am – Pick up Kelly (She likes to sleep in on Saturday) and head out for 9 holes of golf at the Emporia Municipal Golf Course. (She plays, I mainly just look for my ball).

12:30 pm – After a round of -4 (Total number of lost balls) we swing down the road to the Olpe Chicken House for Lunch, great food and service that can’t be beat.

2:00 pm – Head back to town and pick up Quinn our Golden Doodle and head to the Buck Fund Dog Park for some fun and games.

3:00 pm – Head back downtown for an afternoon recharge with some more caffeine from Gravel City Roasters – For a big jolt try the Frank’s Crowbar.

3:30pm – It’s got to be 5 O’clock somewhere so head down to the Trolley House for an afternoon Cocktail on their patio.

4:30pm – Time to rest and get ready to head out for a night out in Emporia

6:30pm – Dinner at Bruff’s – Can’t top a Senior Burger w/Cheese and an ice cold beer with the games on the TV’s

8:00pm – Head downtown for a stop a Mulready’s to meet some friends on the back patio, beautiful weather, great drink selection a winning combination.

9:00 pm – Walk down to the Bourbon Cowboy for some Live Music! If we’re lucky my brother Jacob is behind the drums with Brickhorse but any night of live music is great!
