CVB Assists with National Tractor Show and More — Events Held in Emporia and Kansas for the First Time

EMPORIA, Kansas – – The Emporia Convention and Visitors Bureau is working with a number of groups this year to bring meetings and events to Emporia. We are excited to announce confirmation of the following events, all of which are being held in Emporia as well as Kansas, for the first time.

March 2, Kansas Miss Amazing, Emporia Arts Center, 815 Commercial Street

The mission of Miss Amazing Inc. is to provide opportunities for girls and women with disabilities to build confidence and self-esteem in a supportive environment. Miss Amazing events celebrate the strengths of girls and women with disabilities. Miss Amazing events are being held in 33 states and this will be the first event in Kansas. Kansas Miss Amazing will take place on March 2, 4:00 – 6:00 pm at the Emporia Arts Center, 815 Commercial Street.

July 12-14, National Hart-Parr Oliver Collectors Association 2019 Summer Show, Dale Delong Farm, 1420 Road 210

This national tractor show is hosted by the Central States Hart-Parr Oliver Collectors Association and Flint Hills Antique Power Association EDGE&TA Branch 107. The show is open to the public and admission is free. Food vendors and Oliver Parts Vendors will be on site. Show events include: Antique Binder and Combine Harvesting, Antique Haying Demos, Antique Tractor Plowing, Corn Shelling, Kids Games and Area Tours.

September 11-18, Midwest Sharpeners Rodeo, Clarion Inn & Conference Center, 2700 W. 18th Ave.

The debut Midwest Sharpeners Rodeo will be held in Emporia, Kansas. The event is a combination tradeshow with instruction and equipment industry tool show. Ken’s Sharpening Service of Emporia is organizing and hosting the event.

“We are very excited to collaborate on these events which will be hosted in Emporia, Kansas for the first time. All the representatives have been a pleasure to work with and we feel like we’re making new friends. Emporia is being considered as a permanent home to a couple of the events we are working with and we are eager to do what we can to make that happen”, says CVB Director Susan Rathke.
