National Memorial to Fallen Educators
Located on the Emporia State University campus, the National Memorial to Fallen Educators is free to visit and open 24 hours a day. The memorial commemorates educators who lost their lives while performing their professional duties. The memorial is part of the National Teacher’s Hall of Fame, and is located next to the One Room School Museum.
The National Memorial to Fallen Educators was designated as a National Memorial on April 30, 2018, thanks to bills introduced by Kansas Representative Roger Marshall and Kansas Senator Jerry Moran. The Memorial is Kansas’s first national monument.
