Flint Hills Traverse Jeep Route

Explore the backroads of the Flint Hills in your Jeep or SUV

Drive Time: 2-3 days
This one-way, 474 mile route, best done in a Jeep or SUV, runs from Pawhuska, Oklahoma to Marysville, Kansas. This self-guided route is intended to be a premier choice for scenic, rugged, and beautiful gravel and dirt backroad adventures in Kansas. Your travels will take you along the geological spine of the Flint Hills, an ecoregion distinct because it has the densest coverage of intact native tallgrass prairie in North America. The route can be used for an overlanding experience, with camping available at Emporia RV Park & Campground.
