Children’s Literature Book Discussion: The Chestry Oak

Join ESU Special Collections and Archives for an all-ages book discussion of The Chestry Oak, by Newbery Medal-winning author Kate Seredy. Published in 1948, the book is set during World War II in Nazi-occupied Hungary and tells the story of a young boy named Michael, whose father is the prince of the Chestry Valley. The discussion will take place in the Exhibit Hall outside Room 119 of William Allen White Library. Refreshments will be provided. Copies of The Chestry Oak are available for checkout at the circulation desk on the library’s second floor.
