Emporia’s water is some of the best in the world

Emporia has bragging rights thanks to the dedicated staff of the Emporia Public Works Water Treatment Plant. During four of the last five years, Emporia has been a top 5 contender in the Municipal Water category in the Berkeley Springs International Water Tasting competition. Our crowning achievement was in 2013 when Emporia took first place –  Best in the World Gold Medal. We were just four points away from achieving the gold again in the  2017 competition.

A sincere thanks to the hard working staff at the Water Treatment Plant for giving us such great tasting water year after year and giving us one more reason to entice visitors to come to Emporia.
